“Why can’t I resist you?”
Her words came out shaky, almost breathless, as she stood just inches away from him. It wasn’t supposed to be like this. She had promised herself she’d keep her distance.
But promises felt meaningless now.
He looked at her, a slow, knowing smile forming on his lips. “Maybe you don’t want to.”
Her heart skipped at that. “I shouldn’t.”
“And yet… you’re still here.”
The tension between them was undeniable—thick, magnetic, pulling them closer without either of them making the first move. Her pulse raced as his gaze dropped to her lips, then back to her eyes.
“Say something,” she whispered.
“Come closer,” he replied instead.
She hesitated for a second… then stepped forward.
That one step changed everything.
Now she could feel his warmth, his presence wrapping around her like something she couldn’t escape even if she tried. His hand gently found her waist, steady but soft, sending a spark through her that made her breath catch.
“This is exactly why,” she murmured.
“Why what?”
“Why I can’t resist you.”
He didn’t reply.
He just leaned in.
The kiss started slow, teasing—like he was testing her limits. But she didn’t pull away. Instead, she leaned into it, her fingers curling against him as the kiss deepened, turning warmer, more intense.
Everything else disappeared.
The world, the noise, the doubts—all gone.
There was only this moment. This feeling. This undeniable pull between them.
When they finally parted, her eyes stayed closed for a second longer, as if she wasn’t ready to let go.
When she looked at him again, her voice was softer… but certain.
“Now I know.”
“Know what?”
She smiled faintly.
“That I never really wanted to resist you anyway
