The music was low, the lights dim—just enough to blur the edges of everything except him.
She felt his presence before she saw him, like warmth creeping up her spine. When she turned, he was already there, standing too close, his eyes holding hers with a quiet intensity that made her breath falter.
“We keep ending up like this,” he said softly.
“Maybe we don’t try hard enough to stop,” she replied, though her voice betrayed her.
A slow smile curved on his lips. “Or maybe we don’t want to.”
The air between them thickened, charged with something neither of them dared to name out loud. People moved around them, voices and laughter filling the room—but none of it reached them. It was just the two of them, caught in a moment that felt too real to ignore.
His hand brushed against hers, almost accidental—but neither pulled away.
“You feel that?” he murmured.
She nodded, her pulse racing. “I’ve been trying not to.”
“Why?” he asked, stepping closer.
She swallowed, her gaze dropping to his lips for just a second too long. “Because once we start… I don’t think I’ll want to stop.”
That was all it took.
He closed the distance slowly, giving her time to move back—but she didn’t. Instead, she leaned in, meeting him halfway.
Their lips met in a kiss that was soft at first, hesitant, like testing something forbidden. But it didn’t stay that way for long.
The tension, the waiting, the unspoken desire—it all rushed in at once. The kiss deepened, warmer, stronger, pulling them closer until there was no space left between them.
Her fingers tightened against him, and his hand found her waist, holding her like he had been waiting for this moment all along.
And in that kiss, one thing became clear—
Some feelings were never meant to stay hidden
