Dangerously Safe When I’m In Your Arms

The rain tapped softly against the windows, wrapping the night in a quiet kind of intimacy. She stood close to him, closer than she had ever dared before, her breath unsteady, her thoughts even more so.
“Why do you look at me like that?” she whispered.
“Like what?” he asked, though he already knew.
“Like I’m about to lose control.”
He stepped forward, closing the last inch between them. “Maybe you are.”
Her heartbeat raced as his hand gently lifted her chin, his touch warm, steady—yet filled with something deeper, something that made her feel both safe and completely undone at the same time.
She didn’t step back.
Instead, she leaned in.
Their closeness turned electric, the space between them charged with everything they hadn’t said. When their lips finally met, it wasn’t rushed—it was slow, intense, a kiss that lingered like it had been waiting for this exact moment.
Her fingers found his shirt, holding on as if she might drift away otherwise. His arms wrapped around her, pulling her closer, grounding her even as everything inside her felt wild and free.
It was a strange feeling—being held so gently, yet feeling something so powerful rise within her. Like she was safe enough to let go, safe enough to feel everything without fear.
She pulled back slightly, her breath soft against his lips. “This feels dangerous…”
He smiled, resting his forehead against hers. “Only because it matters.”
And she realized then—
Some feelings don’t break you.
Some feelings make you feel alive.
And in his arms, she was both safe… and completely fearless. 🔥
