I Thought It Was Just One Message⦠I Was Wrong
When my phone buzzed at 11:47 p.m., I almost ignored it.
The message came from an unknown number.
“Don’t make any plans for tomorrow. Your life is about to change.”
I laughed to myself. It looked like one of those strange prank messages people sometimes send. I deleted it, put my phone away, and went to sleep without thinking about it again.
The next morning, everything seemed normal. I grabbed a coffee, headed to work, and tried to forget about the mysterious text. But as I walked into the office, my manager called me into his office.
For a moment, I feared the worst.
Instead, he smiled.
“We’ve been watching your work for months,” he said. “Congratulations. You’re being promoted.”
I couldn’t believe it.
Was the message just a lucky coincidence?
That evening, another notification appeared.
“Congratulations. But that’s only the beginning.”
A chill ran down my spine.
Who was sending these messages? How did they know about the promotion before I did?
Over the next few days, the texts continued.
Sometimes they warned me to leave home five minutes later. When I listened, I discovered there had been a serious traffic accident on my usual route.
Another message told me to check an old bookshelf in my apartment.
Hidden behind a dusty photo frame was a small envelope left by my late grandfather years earlier. Inside was a handwritten letter telling me how proud he had always been of me and encouraging me to never stop chasing my dreams.
I sat there in silence, overwhelmed with emotion.
Whoever was sending these messages wasn’t playing games.
They somehow knew things no stranger should know.
Curiosity finally won.
I replied.
“Who are you?”
For several hours, there was no answer.
Then my phone buzzed again.
“Someone who was once given a second chance. Now it’s your turn.”
The words stayed with me.
I tried calling the number, but it didn’t exist.
I searched online, contacted my phone provider, and even asked a friend who worked in cybersecurity to trace it.
Nothing.
It was as if the messages appeared from nowhere.
Weeks passed, and the texts became less frequent.
Instead of predictions, they offered simple reminders.
“Call your mother today.”
I did.
She told me she had been feeling lonely but didn’t want to bother me. We talked for nearly two hours.
Another message simply read:
“Be kind. You never know who needs it.”
That same afternoon, I helped an elderly man whose car had broken down. Months later, he introduced me to a business partner who completely changed my career.
The final message arrived exactly one year after the first.
“You don’t need me anymore. Trust yourself.”
I stared at the screen, waiting for another text.
None ever came.
To this day, I still don’t know who sent those messages.
Maybe it was coincidence.
Maybe it was someone watching from the shadows.
Or maybe some mysteries are never meant to be solved.
But every time my phone vibrates unexpectedly, I can’t help wondering if another impossible message is finally on its way.
