Lena never thought she would see Adrian again.
Three years had passed since the night he walked away, leaving only silence and memories she tried hard to forget. Yet there he was now, standing across the rooftop terrace at a midnight party, dressed in black, looking just as dangerous and irresistible as before.
The city lights glowed below them. Music played softly in the background. But for Lena, the whole world had gone quiet.
Adrian slowly walked toward her, his eyes never leaving hers.
“You still disappear without warning?” she asked coldly.
A faint smile touched his lips. “Only when I know I’ll be chased in my dreams.”
She should have rolled her eyes. She should have turned away. Instead, her pulse quickened.
“You broke my heart,” she whispered.
“And mine never healed,” he replied.
The honesty in his voice shook her more than his presence.
Rain began to fall lightly, cool drops touching their skin. Guests rushed inside, but neither of them moved.
Adrian stepped closer, close enough for Lena to feel the heat of him despite the night air.
“I thought about this moment a thousand times,” he said softly. “About what I’d say if I saw you again.”
“And what would you say?”
His fingers gently lifted her chin.
“Kiss me again.”
Her breath caught. Every memory returned at once — stolen nights, whispered promises, the way he once made her feel alive.
“You don’t deserve it,” she murmured.
“Probably not.”
Then she grabbed his shirt and pulled him closer.
Their kiss was fierce, hungry, and full of all the years they had lost. Rain soaked them, but neither cared. The city vanished. The music faded. There was only heat, regret, and desire.
When they finally parted, both breathless, Adrian rested his forehead against hers.
“One more chance,” he whispered.
Lena smiled slowly, her lips still trembling.
“Don’t waste it this time.”
