She knew she had crossed the line the moment she stopped trying to resist him.
There was something about the way he looked at her—like he saw through every wall she had ever built. It made her feel exposed… and yet, strangely safe.
“This isn’t right,” she whispered, though her voice lacked conviction.
He stepped closer, his gaze steady. “Then why does it feel so right?”
Her heart raced, betraying her thoughts. She tried to step back, but her feet refused to move. Every instinct told her to leave, to protect herself—but her heart had already chosen otherwise.
“You don’t understand,” she said softly. “Once I fall… I don’t come back.”
A faint smile touched his lips. “Maybe I don’t want you to.”
That was the moment she realized—she was already too deep.
His hand reached for hers, slow and certain, giving her time to pull away. But she didn’t. Instead, her fingers intertwined with his, as if they belonged there all along.
The world around them faded, leaving only the quiet tension between two hearts beating too fast.
“You’re dangerous,” she breathed.
“And you love it,” he replied.
Before she could answer, he leaned in, his lips meeting hers in a kiss that was anything but innocent. It was intense, filled with longing, with fire, with everything they had been holding back. Her thoughts dissolved, replaced by feeling—pure, overwhelming feeling.
When they pulled apart, her breath trembled.
“I’m too deep in your love,” she admitted.
He rested his forehead against hers, his voice low. “Then don’t fight it.”
And maybe she should have.
But she didn’t.
Because some love isn’t meant to be safe… it’s meant to consume you.
